  1. Funds should not be put into student activity accounts or through the operating budget. These are private activities and donations. However, some schools do use their building gift accounts (or even student activitity accounts if the purpsose of the student organization has been for fund raising for specific organizations e.g., Oxfam, Amnesty International, National Honor Society). The goal of the district is to support students and to facilitate students learning the value of enterprise if their incentive is personally moral and not financial. The students still get a hands-on learning opportunity in the spirit and mechanics of student activities. Keep detailed records and make sure that all publicity is clearly marked for the fund raising purpose.
