Dear Massachusetts School Business Administrator, The structure for the MASBO School Business Administrator's Bookshelf is supplemental to the ASBO International's Professional Standards and geared specifically to Massachusetts. "ASBO International's Professional Standards" were developed for school business officials by ASBO's Professional Standards Committee. These standards organize the various duties and responsibilities of our profession. This web site is the toolkit, file cabinet, or bookshelf of what every Massachusetts School Business Administrator must reference on a regular or sometimes infrequent basis. The Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials have made available the past issues of its bi-monthly newsletter for reference. The Professional Standards are grouped into the following seven areas:
Also included are examples of ASBO Professional Development Resources
ASBO created Professional Self Assessments to direct and assist the gaining of knowledge by school business administrators nationwide in the above standards. Their web site will direct you through the process of self evaluation, peer evaluation, or superintendent evaluation using an objective evaluation instrument.
The Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials, Mentorship Committee hopes that you find this format helpful, not only for your day to day needs, but also to provide a context for completing and maintaining professional licensure as required by the Massachusetts Department of Education. The Mentorship Committee would appreciate any feedback on the effectiveness of this format for you as a School Business Administrator. Please let us know of any additions you would like to see in the future. Contact information and requests for content to be added may be made through the MASBO Executive Director or the site originator. Please contact the site originator if you find a web link broken. Sincerely,
Site Originator : Mary Ellen Dunn (contact information available through MASBO membership directory) Please Report errors, omissions, and content suggestions to MASBOBOOK.org Webmaster (masbobook@yahoo.com) |
